This season, Michele’s interest in the art of fashion presentation has coincided with the demand for innovation under the restrictions of Covid-19. Thus, Gucci’s latest collection is delivered to us through a kind of magical, cyber-fantastical live stream. Alessandro Michele decided to show his autumn collection called "An Unrepeatable ritual at the Gucci Hub".
Alessandro Michele decided to show his autumn collection called "An Unrepeatable ritual at the Gucci Hub". All the guests of the show had to go to their seats through the backstage zone, and along the way, they had the opportunity to see how preparations were going for the show itself (from applying makeup to dressing up models) and personally greet the designer. “There is still something in this process that always remains hidden from prying eyes, - says Michele in his Instagram notes for the show. - The torment of creativity, an inner thrill before creating something new, like a mother's womb, in which poetry ripens, is transformed from form to form. Therefore, I decided to open the veil of secrecy. Let those whose talented hands are involved in creation come out of the shadows."
To view the final result, the guests were nevertheless invited to the hall, where a carousel with transparent display glasses was installed. The solemn atmosphere was emphasized by the music - "Bolero" sounded from the speakers.
Michele's new collection is no exception and is still sustained in the brand's already beloved vintage aesthetics, with notes from the 70s. The most striking elements of the show were fluffy dresses on crinolines and knitted capes, tiered tulle dresses, caftans, and frock coats in the manner of court fashion of the 18th century, feather hats and hats with stylized "cat" ears.
Key items: coats, turn-down dresses, and blouses, colored gloves, plaid suits, tops, and dresses with bows, tall hats, crucifix pendants.
Current trends: bows, ruffles, ruffles, a checked pantsuit, fetish paraphernalia, feathers, crinoline dresses, layering, bright colors, coats, and dresses in the spirit of the 30s and 70s.
What to look for: white knee-highs over colorful tights, fluffy guipure shorts under a mini dress, velvet trousers, gaucho style with wide trousers, and a high hat.
