DIOR SPRING SUMMER 2020 AD CAMPAIGN
Dior unveiled the advertising campaign for Kim Jones' Summer 2020 Men Collection. Directed by Steven Meisel, the campaign shows the silhouettes and accessories designed by Kim Jones in collaboration with American artist Daniel Arsham, who also reveals his perspective in the Future Relics series.
"This advertising campaign reflects Dior's past and future in a cool and timeless way," said Kim Jones, Dior Artistic Director of Men's Clothing. The photographs show a worn stainless steel statue and a hole quartz crystal, dubbed the "Archaeologist of the Future".
Included are pearl flowers, which Dior's founding designer thought it brought luck, and DIOR OBLIQUE, designed by Marc Bohan in 1967. With its striking and iridescent colors, there are special designs made with the luxury suitcase house RIMOWA with graphic patterned logo ornaments that are like an indelible signature. Aluminum cabin and luggage suitcases, handbags, and clutches are combined with modern Dior icons. Kim Jones designs, already iconic, take a time travel to 3020 with the favorite objects of Monsieur Dior. You can see a phone or a watch that looks like a reanimated accessory.
The designs reinvent Christian Dior's favorite colors, gray, and blue, in the Tailleur Oblique series, which do not accept the light and flexible fabrics. The transparent boots inspired by the shoes Daniel Arsham wore in his workshop lend modern elegance to the models, while paired with jackets and trousers. While the Dior logo used on the jewelry is designed with cracks giving the appearance of "used", the earrings are decorated with crystals reflecting the philosophy and works of the famous artist.
